When this happens You can quickly close down any apps you are no longer using by calling up the running apps list – press and hold the home key and then swipe away any apps you want to exit.

Make sure your smartphone software is up to date

Software updates are not always about new features, most of the time they also contain bug-fixes and performance enhancements that can significantly speed up your device’s operation. So it not in the best interest of your device to swipe them away when they come. Take a few minutes to update your smartphone software.

Free up some Storage Space on your Smartphone

All those photos you’ve taken and all of those apps you’ve installed can take their toll on your phone. It needs a little breathing room to run smoothly and if it’s running low on space, it can start to slow down especially if the device doesn’t have a large Storage space to work with. So delete some of those pictures and uninstall some unused Apps including the that came preinstalled. Head to your phone SETTINGS and select STORAGE to create space.

Restart  your device

A quick and simple solution to the problem might be to simply restart your smartphone. This can clear out the cache, stop unnecessary tasks from running, and get things running smoothly again.

Just hold down the power button, select the Restart option, and then tap OK to confirm

Perform a Factory reset

If after performing all the above steps and your smartphone is still slow, you might have to perform a factory reset, because a factory reset will restore the phone to the condition the manufacturer shipped it in, which can clean up obscure bits of leftover software and buggy code that could be clogging up performance. The only problem is you will lose all your data, but you can perform a backup before resetting. Go SETTINGS and click on SECURITY you find the factory reset option.
